Acid base indicator. Sodium salt is often used in colorimetric
determination of pH. Acid base indicator, pH 3.8 (yellow) ～ 5.4
(blue). Its sodium salt solution is used as a chromogenic agent for
the determination of pH value by spectrophotometry. It can be used
as a reagent for the determination of aliphatic hydroxyl acids and
alkaloids by TLC and the extraction and separation agent for the
spectrophotometric determination of quaternary ammonium cations.
